1.15.10

Dear Blogger,
I found out today I have spiders in my eyelashes. Not just me. EVERYONE. I hope this enlightened you and grossed you out as much as it did me.
Anyway, ever have one of those situations where you look at yourself and say..."I am an idiot." Well, I have one or two of those moments every day! However, today was a total MLIA. Let me give you a little bit of a background story...
Today we went to the King of Prussia, me, Kristen, her mom and her mom's friend. It was such a jolly good time! But through aching legs, feet, and heads and ALL day at the mall (plus a free refill for mwah, which totally made my day) We decided to stay for some dinner at the Cheesecake factory!
The little hand-held plastic buzzer vibrated away, making us plenty aware that it was our turn to come up. The waitress motioned for us and announced "your table is ready!". Kristen and I, busy on our iPods, headed out with her. Walking through the maze of dimly lit tables we finally made it to the little corner booth, too our great appreciation. We made ourselves quite comfortable, sliding in all the way around the circular cushioned booth, napkins neatly folded into perfect little squares around the table.
"Wow this is a great spot." Kristen exclaimed, eyes darting up at me then back to her iPod.
"Yeah, where are the mom's?" I asked, and we both looked up to see the waitress, stammering to get her words out next to a large family of 5.
"Are you joining the party of 5?" She asked, tilting her head.
Kristen and I looked at each other as the realization came over like a deluge of water from the sky. We had followed the wrong waitress back and were about to make that poor family a party of 7. We instantly burst into laughter, collected our things, and scurried over to the moms, who were coincidentally splitting their sides with laughter as well.
Well, that joyous evening ending with some tasty food and actually...no cheesecake. Hmm...we really should have gotten some...

Most humiliated,
Mandy

P.S. I spent $70 shopping today...my wallet is weeping.

P.S.S. I had a Cinnabon cinnamon roll so that totally made up for my splurging.

Dear Blogger,
Um. Jesus made today especially beautiful. I don't know why...it just was so...warm...invigorating...gorgeous.
Yeah so today I did yoga! It was quite the workout (*Cough* not in shape...)
I worked at the barn today, nothing like the smell of fresh steaming poop against the brisk afternoon winter air. *INHALE*
I'm at Kristen's for the weekend! She's pretty much the bombdiggady.
So, considering I'm over a friends house tonight, I'll stop being rude and get off this blog.

Farewell! Mandy

P.S. I had PIZZA today...mmmmmmm...

1.13.10

Dear Blogger,
The gloom that invaded the skies today cleared up in a beautiful pink, orange, and red sunset tonight which was just BEAUTIFUL. I started the day off with a trip to violin practice...unfortunately I forgot my violin for practice. Fail. I used my teachers violin...I really do have to practice more. After taking my history exam and getting ready my mom and I went out on a trek! We drove my sister to church and went to Caleb and Jeremy's house! While mom was busy me and the boys went out on our usual adventures. We stopped by another house full of boys called the Carvers and after enjoying the most random blueberry muffin shoved in my face we headed off toward the ice pond! Now, we have been to this frozen pond before and used to slide all around on it, however, my father prohibited. Being the GREAT daughter that I am...(ha..)...I refrained from stepping onto the ice. Our little adventure included fireworks, a boulder, a long vine, a lot of running, peoples backyards...and a little clicking of heels. We finally retired at the Carvers and enjoyed nice cold water. Soon after, we left and headed to Panera Bread. Which coincidentally guess who I saw there! You guessed it, the mysterious busboy that talked to me the last time I was in there! Although, I don't believe he recognized me (ie...straightened hair...) I waved and he just sat there, staring and smiling like a confounded little puppy. My mom and I sat down to a hearty meal (mmm...french onion soup and chicken chipotle sandwich....) That's when the name of "MANDY" started coming over the loudspeakers. I found it funny that they called it three times and no one came. Then one of the workers started coming around asking if there was a Mandy anywhere, he skipped my table so I didn't even think about going up. By the time I got to the car I thought of something...I had told that guy my name the last time I was in Panera...I kind of wonder now if he was trying to figure out if that was me by speaking my name into the overhead......OH WELL....I guess I'll never know :P
Oh and then I went to www.madeforintamcy.blogspot.com 's aka Drew's church which was great. I spent a lot of time in prayer for my mother, a lot of health problems seem to ail her...if you have a free minute...pray for her maybe? Thanks. (:

Stuffed full, Mandy

Dear Blogger,

BUM DAY.

Howbeit, I did have a good reason. I have been waking up with headaches recently but they usually go away fast. This one didn't. I studied all morning which of course just worsened it. As you can see by my lack of hair-hygiene I didn't go anywhere today, and by my robe, I'm kind of chilly and feeling sick. Ah the powers of simple observation. You may have also noticed I changed the colors of the picture on my webcam. As I usually do not care what I look like in front of the camera, today was definitely a sight for sore eyes, Jesus made me beautiful, I just mess it up some days. I tried to compensate with the contrast...*cough* *cough*.
I canceled my barn job for the day because of the headache, which happened to go away around the time I work...fail. However I didn't want this day to go to waste! I tried getting to get together with some friends to a movie, alas, someone dropped out...(http://madeforintimacy.blogspot.com/) It's okay, I still love him anyway.
Anna visited today! She was coming by to pick up a camp brochure to the winter camp we're going to soon...Oh, I just thought of something. How am I going to take pictures of me when I'm at camp? I guess I'll just use my camera and write things down in a journal and just add when I get back, I'm sure my....ONE....follower can wait.

Bein fly, Mandy

P.S. Speaking of being fly...take a look at the video I attempted today...*laughs* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05xaKtHjYyY

1.11.10

Dear Blogger,
Today was grand! Yes grand I say, like Pillsbury's cinnamon rolls! The night before I had stayed up late with our missionary friends watching Pirates of the Caribbean 2...I have seen that movie WAY too many times. After hugs and goodbyes they took off, and we were left to various activities...aka SCHOOL. However, after studying for and taking my English exam we left for bible study! Picking up my brother's college friend on the way. Arriving at bible study we all hung out and decided to break into an exciting few rounds of NINJA! (Our youth leader, of course jumping RIGHT in.) After worship we all sat around the rectangular table and proceeded in bible study. A lesson on our generation that is rising, and how certain aspects of our life can dilute our ability to become better little-Christ's aka Christians. We need good Godly 1. Character 2. Competence through Him and 3. Collaboration together. With these three main things we can acheieve such a goal of higher expectations, I want my *book to be one that is read with honor and respect, not one of the ones that gets lost on the library shelves.

In all love, Mandy

P.S. I received quite the letter today from a certain young man...

*remember book = life (;

Dear Blogger,
These few chapters of my book have kept me smiling from ear to ear, Jesus is so good! Today was a God day! Church almost all day! I also had another party today for my friend Kristen. It was fun, and after much food, card tricks (of course), wii, ping pong, and teaching myself how to play the drums we had to get back to church. Of course at church our friends, also missionaries, were preaching at the church that evening. I had also invited some friends from bible study, we had a whole party! Everyone came over after church and we had some good hour and a half game of Ninja...= AMAZING. Got to love those Ninja fiends.

So Very Karate-Choppy, Mandy

1.9.10

Dear Blogger,
A Saturday isn't a school day! Alas, for a homeschooler ANY day can be a school day. I did school all day in great anticipation of the evening. Christy's birthday party was a shoe-in for the best day of the week.
The party was like any other party, food, friends, and fun. All three F's make up some of the best parties I've ever been too. After some fun with their antique pump organ and making up our own commercials we decided to play a game of extreme spoons. I, of course always having at least a pack of cards on me at all times, volunteered one of my decks along with Christy's deck as well. We mixed them together and with 13 people played the most epic game of spoons in the history of ANYONES book. (that's right...I said it..)
The spoons were placed outside, across the snow laden yard, into the frozen birdbath that was approximately 30 feet away. Shoe and sock were thrown aside and the cards started speeding around the circle of teens. Two Queens...Three...I only needed one more...FOUR! I jumped up, which instantly triggered everyone else in the room to do the same. Cards were flying everywhere, limbs flailing, I knew I had kicked a few people by the time I made it to the door and whipped it open, revealing to the cold dark world that there were 13 ravenous teens mowing each other down for a piece of concave metal.
My first attempt at grasping a spoon I ended up with three! I threw two back and as I slipped and slid all over the snowy ground, made it back to the warm house, panting. I grinned and stared at the shiny piece of metal that kept my hand at a freezing temperature. I had won.

Most Freezingly, Mandy
